Ephesians 1:11 “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,”
Since we have been adopted into the family of God, we now have an inheritance. It would be great if we would get a list as to just what that inheritance is! Well, we know it includes eternal life and a place being prepared for us in heaven.
Much of what God has prepared for us is a mystery. The Bible says “eye has not seen, ear has not heard nor can we imagine the things God has prepared for those who love him.” It goes on to say the Spirit is revealing these things to us. The bible talks about pearly gates, golden streets, and transparent walls.
Heaven is also described by what is not there. No more tears, no more pain, no more sickness and no more death. Those are the things of the earth and we will leave these earthly things behind.
However, the greatest part or our inheritance is not what heaven is like but, Who is in heaven. We will spend all of eternity with the One true, living God! That is what makes heaven so spectacular. No wonder the Spirt did not inspire the writers to write much about the place. It pales in comparison to the One Who sits on the throne. The best news is we don’t have to wait to get to heaven to know Him, He is waiting to walk with you today.
