Ephesians 2:6 “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”We speak of the spiritual places we have in Christ, what we mean by this is, is that behind the scenes, in the spiritual realm God has done some things for us that are hard for us to grasp. The fact that they are hard to grasp or to detect does not mean they are not true.
If we knew the places God has put us in spiritually, we would have much greater confidence as we walk with Jesus day by day. And great confidence as we step out to do the things he has called each of us to do.
Here in our text we find two of these Spiritual place’s talked about. First, “raised up together”. We have been raised above this world, and the things of this world. we are citizens of heaven the bible tells us. When we are raised up in Christ this earth is no longer our home, our home is in heaven. we are sojourners or pilgrims here. and the things of this earth do not effect us like they used to.
Second, We are made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. There is a very real way in which you and I are sitting with Jesus. I do not pretend to understand this completely. How can I be walking around down hear, and still sitting with Jesus in heavenly places. however. it speaks of the fellowship we have in Christ and with each other.
God has raised us up and we sit in heavenly places. One thing for sure, the things of this world should not effects us as they once did.
