7:12PM...NewYears Eve...2012
It has been two weeks and two days since I said goodbye to my wife of 30 years. She was my companion, my love and my favorite. I could fill pages describing her and telling you about our relationship. For now, I simple write: spending time with Lisa was effortless. It was easier to be with my wife than by myself. No pressured small talk. No awkward pauses. Just there together sharing, laughing, harassing... It was our way.
Tonight, two weeks after losing her to cancer, I will stand behind the pulpit again, and preach the message God has given me to share, not because I am ready, or it’s been enough time. In fact, I assure you that I am not ready and there has not been enough time. But there is a cause, a call. There are people who have never met the wonderful Jesus, who brought me and my wife together. There are people living in a quiet desperation, who need Hope for living today and of eternity to come.
So, tonight, I return to preaching the only message that can truly change a person’s life: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lives will be changed. God will save, forgive and restore, any person who will come to Jesus. Believe and receive.
Tonight, it’s time to get back to work!
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” ~ Ephesians 2:10
Blessings,
Robert Furrow

The grief of losing a spouse is so difficult, but I am glad you are showing your grief and not hiding from it. Continued prayers to you and your family.
Thank you Pastor Robert. You teach our whole family to praise God even in trial. No matter what, blessed be the name of the Lord. We send you our love and prayer.
Pastor Robert, You have never met me..but my husband & I attend service on Sunday's and listen to you every Sunday...for about a year now.
Reading this my heart cries for you and hurts with you. What words can I say? It is not easy and I cannot say I understand..but I mourn. My heart is heavy and my mouth is empty with words. I have always heard "there are reasons for everything" & "God doesn't give us things we cannot handle" but I honestly have NEVER been comforted by those words. BUT believing HIM & HIS WORD and having HOPE in HIM keeps life going. Keeping you in my prayers.
Truly inspirational. Thank you for sharing. Sending Much love and prayers to you and your family.
I will be praying for you and your wonderful family. I am excited to see what God will do through you this coming year! Love you all.
I was sitting here reading, my heart breaking for you, crying....having no words to express my heart, for the pain you must be feeling. I'm praying for you. What words can I possibly say that would bring you comfort? I'm not sure that anything I had to say would make your pain any less. I am truly sorry you are hurting. I pray in silence, pouring my heart out to God for you and your family. We grieve with you... I ask God to bring those with the encouraging words and love that you need to be shown during this journey of pain.
We love you Pastor
Isaiah 43:2
New Living Translation (NLT)

I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,

When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
